• Safe Operating Procedures

In order to meet the basic health and safety legislations, your company must have a competent person appointed. A competent person appointed with your company is essentially the go-to person that has the required training and experience in case of a health and safety accident.

When it comes to appointing a competent person, you have three main options; appoint yourself, one or more of your workers, or an external source from outside your business.

If you’re appointing a competent person internally, Business Safety Solutions can help by ensuring that the newly appointed person has received all relevant IOSH training, gains practical experience, and has all the applicable knowledge that is necessary. As a newly-found organisation, it’s important to get to work on this straight away as failure to do so may result in heavy fines and prosecutions.

Business Safety Solutions are also able to provide comprehensive health and safety audits for businesses throughout Ellesmere Port and the surrounding areas. We work with a number of sectors and businesses to design bespoke health and safety audits including landlords, retail outlets, leisure centres, and warehouses.

Essentially, a health and safety audit is to analyse current health and safety practices and procedures and suggest/recommend improvements that results in safer workforces, improved efficiency, and increased revenue for your business. Our health and safety audits predominantly make sure that you are fully compliant with the latest health and safety regulations.

Upon completion of the audit, you’ll receive a full detailed report of the next recommended steps and full analysis of your businesses current policies.

Here at Business Safety Solutions, we are also able to provide fire risk assessments in Ellesmere Port. Our team of health and safety experts are able to undertake annual fire risk assessments at your business premises to ensure you are fire-safe and complying with the latest laws and regulations as set out by the The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Fire risk assessments are the legal responsibility of the commercial property owner and they are essential to carry out a thorough annual check to help identify potential hazards and fire risks. Our assessors at BSS will check main fire risk and fire prevention factors including electrical equipment on-site, smoking areas and current measures in place to limit fire spread.
