Business Safety Solutions provide competent person services in Macclesfield for businesses over 5 employees. Every organisation is legally-obligated to have a dedicated competent person appointed to oversee the health and safety within a business.

Although a competent person can be appointed in-house, it’s usually the case that employees don’t have the necessary skills and training. Therefore, it’s often more effective to appoint an external competent person that can professionally undertake health and safety services such as creating and updating health and safety policies.

Health and safety audits ensure compliance with current health and safety regulations, as well as ensuring that your current systems are up-to-date and fit-for-purpose.

In-depth health and safety audits are carried out by our health and safety consultants that cover the following steps; management team competence, frequency of safety checks, system for reporting hazards, and auditing current fire risk assessment processes.

BSS provides health and safety audits in Macclesfield across various sectors including Manufacturing, Warehousing, Leisure, Retail and Education. Upon completion of the audit, you will understand the exact health and safety practices that need to be changed or improved.

Fire risk assessments in Macclesfield are a legal-obligation for all non-domestic properties. Failure to conduct a fire risk assessment at your premises may result in hefty prosecutions. The aim of a fire risk assessment is to significantly minimise the risk of fire hazards.

The main FOUR steps of a fire risk assessment include; identifying potential risks and hazards, deciding who could be harmed by those identified risks, reducing and/or eliminating fire risks, and evaluating current fire safety precautions. Fire risk assessments should be undertaken on an annual basis to ensure maximum fire safety.
